Why did you choose to work for us?
Great company to work for, providing great training for the staff, including trips to France and photoshoots.

Tell us about your story so far?
Having left school at 15 I completed a three year hairdressing apprenticeship NVQ. I decided to move on from the hairdressing industry to work with my Dad in his family business. He had three delis across the city, after selling the business in 2010 I decided to stay in the hospitality field. I started as a bartender at Angels Share in 2011 (then Hudson Hotel) before quickly moving up to Bar Supervisor and then Assistant Manager.

What do you get up to on a typical day/shift?
Ensuring everything is in place for a smooth service. Briefing my team and kitchen on the day/night ahead. Making sure customers feel welcome and ensuring we do our best so they will return.

What do you like most about working here?
Engaging with the staff, socially and on work terms.
When customers give me and my team good feedback online and in person.

What’s been your biggest achievement so far?
The development of Angel's Share. Training junior staff members into management roles. Adapting to the change of the new ownership of the company. Achieving below 1% of wet stock takes consistently.

What makes someone successful here?
Just having a positive attitude at all times. If you have a nice personality, look well groomed, come to work on time, and if you're good with the customers and want to move forward in the business you'll get on fine here. Sometimes you just need to push yourself to that next level.

Tell us about the training and development…
From what I know there is a good amount of training within the company. I would like to go on future courses if given the opportunity especially the wine training which the guys at work say was excellent!

What is it really like to work here?
We have a great team, which makes all the difference. We are a successful business with growing revenue in all departments. Our feedback is generally great and the customers as well as the staff love the place.

What do you think makes us unique as an employer?
The wide variation of different venues. Every venue is different in its own way. I would like to find out more about the history of the company. I feel that question is asked often without knowing an awful lot about the company.

What would you say to someone who was thinking of applying?
I would say go for it! They’re a successful company who are expanding UK wide. They are always looking to develop and train staff. External transfers are available for new opportunities.

What is your favourite story (film, play or book)?
The Lion King (play and film)

I’m a sporty guy who loves playing football and tennis. I play the guitar and sing. I’ve not seen many films to be honest or read many books. Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings and all that fictional jazz doesn’t do it for me I’m afraid. -

If you could invite anyone to a dinner party, which 4 people would you choose?
Henrik Larsson, Novak Djorkovic, Andy Murray and my girlfriend and my baby girl Louisa.

What would be your ideal holiday destination and why?
I like Barcelona a lot. Perhaps Buenos Aires or Santiago. If I was to ever travel far my first choice would be South America. I love the Spanish language so would be looking to develop that further.
