Why did you choose to work for us?
At the time of applying I had never worked in a restaurant, only a bar, I was looking for a new challenge and hope to improve my skills within the hospitality industry.

Tell us about your story so far?
I started with Glendola in 2011, even though I am a Supervisor I am trusted with Assistant Manager level tasks as well as those that come with my job description.

What do you get up to on a typical day/shift?
Opening of the venue including daily checks, fire, money and general checks.
Running a shift of up to six staff on busy days.
General interaction with the customers and locals.
Making sure that the staff are happy and working to the best of their ability.

What do you like most about working here?
The social aspect of the job, including working as part of a team alongside new challenges on a daily basis co in siding that no two days are ever the same.

What’s been your biggest achievement so far?
I have a Foundation Diploma in Wine as well as a Foundation Diploma in Cellar Management and Cask Ale.

What makes someone successful here?
Hard work, commitment and dedication to the team and the unit.

Tell us about the training and development…
Training is very important and should be carried out in many fields on a constant basis, without training service is not consistent and we are not giving our best service to the customers. Training is also important for health and safety purposes, eg. COSHH and Fire Training.

What is it really like to work here?
If I told you, I would have to kill you lol.

What do you think makes us unique as an employer?
The fact that every venue within the Glendola family is different. From The Watermark to The Rainforest Café each unit is unique with its own stories.

What would you say to someone who was thinking of applying?
Go for it – Glendola are a great company to work for.

What is your favourite story (film, play or book)?
I have lots of favourite films including James Bond, Marvel movies, Batman and lots more, too many to list, I think it’s safe to say I’m a big movie buff.

What’s your favourite song?
Again to many to list but if I had to choose one probably the song I am named after “Daniel” by Elton John.

If you could invite anyone to a dinner party, which 4 people would you choose?
Ryan Giggs – my hero as young boy, the reason I started watching football and support Manchester United.
JJ Abrams – amazing film maker and pioneer of movie making, as a film buff this would be amazing.
Shawn Michaels – I have been watching wrestling since I was 2-years-old and Shawn Michaels was my favourite wrestler for 20 years.
David Tennant – superb actor, massive fan of his work. -
What would be your ideal holiday destination and why?
Anywhere with my wife and soon to be baby – no expectation needed.
